i just finished watching about 10 minutes of the video diary of the reporter who went to N. Korea with a contraband videocam....it wasn't until he started showing stills of then prez Johnson and talking about the paranoia of the N.Koreans concerning the US,..and the feeling they seem to have over there about our country wanting a piece of them in some way.....suddenly i'm thinking; how paranoid are they really? Over the last 30 yrs, i seem to recall one tv show constantly being thrown in my face..M*A*S*H. Now, i know some tv shows are so popular as to be a nostalgic icon and a mainstay...but M*A*S*H?
Before cable became mainstream, MASH was on every night on network tv, usually the last show aired in my area (phila). ..basically, nothing else was on BUT MASH, and at that hour, you fell asleep during the show. Now, with cable and satellite, I'm finding MASH airing at least 3 times a day or more, with episodes running 2 and 3 at a time consecutively...if there was EVER a suspicion of mental suggestion techniques, this would raise the question to me.
Is M*A*S*H really that popular a show? with MTV, SHO, HBO, PORNO, cartoons and religion,..is M*A*S*H all that these days? Are we trying to get US citizens accustomed to the fact that we'll be seeing a lot of N.Korea in the future, as we so painfully have done so in the past?
