Unfortunately they are not ventilated and completely water tight. I had the pleasure of traveling Wuhan in the Hubei Province of China. One of the main tourist attractions there is East Lake. Since almost all of the bodies of water are dangerously polluted, these rubber balls are one of the few water activities people can enjoy. One of my traveling companions gave these balls a try. They are nearly impossible to stand up and when he was pulled back to the dock he was soaking in sweat. The chinese absolutely love westerners and everyone within earshot of the dock gathered around to watch! 10RMB is about $1.75.
