Update-a-palooza

Ian's life is officially for sale. Kyle is trading the Red Paperclip house. How iReport.com made one man's cubicle famous. "The Redneck Mommy" has an ear ache. PLUS...

Those are News To Me's resident EMMY® Award winners in the pic above! Combined, Eric and Teague took home 4 statuettes from the 2008 Southeast Regional EMMY® Awards for their work on "TBS STORY/line" on Saturday Night here in Atlanta. Eric was so thrilled about winning (again!) that he just could not hold back his affection for the camera!

Actually that shot was taken a few hours before the awards were handed out. We were way down yonder on the Chattahoochee River being devoured by invisible biting insects and shooting Eric's parts of the show that will air in two weeks. Our vision for this scene was a black and white, kind of artsy, Fellini-style thing... but it turned into more of a really twisted version of Christopher Walkin's Saturday Night Live character "The Continental." Complete with Eric's creepy and bad French accent. You'll get to see how it all comes together on July 5th and 6th.

But what about Ian and the Red Paperclip house and the cubicle?

"News To Me" brought you Ian's story a few months ago, and even did a quick update here in the blog last week... he is selling his life on eBay and the auction is finally LIVE. Check out his site: alife4sale.com to follow the auction, or even make a bid. Last time I checked the high bid was $300,100 Australian dollars (just over $285,559 U.S.).

We introduced (or re-introduced) you to Kyle McDonald a couple weeks ago. He's the guy who is trying to find these guys. He's also the guy who started with "one red paperclip" and traded it up over the course of a year until he turned it into a house! Who would have thought that remodeling your cubicle could garner you so much attention!? We only showed his picture for a second or two on this past weekend's show, but Jared Nielsen's photo of him in his Mahogany office cubicle went viral after he posted it on iReport.com. So viral that he's getting sponsorship offers, and he was featured in his local newspaper!

Finally we want to send out our best wishes for a speedy recovery to Tanis, the Redneck Mommy, who found out that even though it's hosted and edited by EMMY® Award winners, just being on "News To Me" doesn't get you in to see the doctor any faster!
